Confined Space Entry Awareness
Confined Space Entry Awareness Course will give participants an understanding of the new legislation and how these new requirements may impact your workplace. Participants will learn about the new requirements in the Industrial Establishments Regulation, responsibilities of the workplace parties, the new definition of a confined space, how this requirements may impact your workplace and how to develop written assessments and plans.

Marine Occupational Safety and Health for Mariners
This course will provide an introduction and overview of the Canada Labour Code and The Marine Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) Regulation.
Course Content
- Relevant sections of the Canada Labour Code Part II
- Responsibilities of the employer under the Code, Section 125
- Responsibilities of supervisors and managers to ensure a safe workplace
- Responsibilities of the employees under the code, Section 126
- Responsibilities of Health and Safety Representatives, Section 136.
- The right to refuse unsafe work and the appropriate procedure in cases of refusal to work
- Three basic rights of the employee
- The internal complaint resolution procedure
- AVC’s and directions issued by a safety officer
- Report and investigation of hazardous occurrences
- Due care/due diligence/absolute strict liability
- Marine Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) Regulations
- Ship Casualty Reporting Regulations (CSA)
- Canadian Transportation Accident Investigation and Safety Board Act (TSB)
Each program will include practical exercises and assessment to confirm participant understanding. All material necessary to deliver the program will be provided.

Oil Spill Management
Managing an oil spill is a crucial task that involves making decisions that can have wide ranging implications on the outcome of a response and your organization’s reputation. This course will provide senior managers and government administrators with an overview of oil spill response, preparedness and management responsibilities.
Participants will gain an overview of the complexities of oil spill management through table-top exercises. Emphasis will be placed on issues such as political and media pressure, public environmental awareness, legal and financial implications and the overriding awareness of the safety of the public and response personnel.
Who would benefit from this course?
• Managers and administrators responsible for ensuring effective command and control of an oil spill response effort
• Officials from government agencies involved in oil spill response
• Staff responsible for liaising with external agencies at a corporate level
If requested, a practical exercise will allow each participant to experiment with actual deployment of equipment putting theory into practice. Exercises are conducted weather permitting and utilizing your company’s resources.

Personal Protective Equipment
The WSIB estimates that occupational injuries, illnesses and fatalities continue to plague the province of Ontario with an accumulated economic impact of 15 billion annually *. The pain and suffering affects thousands of workers each year as well as their families, communities and workplaces.
Personal Protective Equipment and PPE safety training are crucial to preventing costly and demoralizing accidents.
Upon completion of the PPE program, candidates will:
• Know how to inspect their workplace and analyze their job function to determine what potential hazards exist.
• Recognize what category of Personal Protective Equipment is needed in various hazard situations.
• Know what types of equipment within each category are most appropriate for the various types of hazards that they may encounter.
• Know how to analyze those hazards and decide what categories of Personal Protective Equipment would be appropriate.
• Be able to select the particular type of protective equipment (in each category) most applicable to each task they perform.
